Cane Chair Project (in progress)

I purchased this chair for $22 at a local second hand shop which is called Second City. This is my very first attempt to reupholster anything. I'm pleased with the fabric I've chosen, I'm playing it safe and giving it a little pizzazz. I used the old fabric for the template and I'm figuring it as I go. The cushions are tufted but I have no idea how to do tufting and I don't want to stress out on my first try and then I'll never do it again, so I'm taking the easy way out (lazy).

I painted the chair Magnetic Gray -SW and then I dry brushed Mink - Ben Moore over the top I think it looks great :)

Within the next few days I hope to finish the top and make a pillow cushion but I have a busy week ahead.

Until the next time
Vicky

  2. Oh my, I am LOVING that fabric! I've never done tufting either, much less upholstered a chair. As you saw on All Mimsy, though, I've started tackling my first one and didn't make it very far..probably too many projects waiting. I need to refocus. You know how we DIY'ers are :-) Blessings!
