All Glammed Up

A few days ago I purchased this little gem off of Craigslist.  This table was in need of some TLC and TLC is what it got. I gave the tabletop a major sanding and then the fun began with Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint. I used a variety of colors Ochre, Paris Grey, Graphite amd Old White. Click here to find my inspiration.

I used silver Rub'n Buf along the edges to add more dimension. The top was stained with Minwax Dark Walnut Stain and I applied three applications of gloss polycrylic to protect the tabletop.

Until next time............Vicky

  8. Hi there, I have enjoyed reading your blog, particularly your info on Old Time Pottery and their fabrics for $4.99/yard. What a find you made! I had never heard of them, so immediately googled to see if there was one near Chicago. There happens to be a store in Rockford which was right on my way to visit my folks, only an hour from me. I stopped in and they are transitioning to a new store and won't be opened until Sept 1....so disappointing!!!!! After reading your blog it is a MUST stop for fabric finds. I am hoping to find IKAT at my shop too! Thanks so much for the heads up!!! Carol

  11. Hi Vicky,
You did a fantastic job of restoring this lovely piece. I am using chalk paint for the first time and wax on the finish. I have always been afraid of stains. Is the stain a wax ?

    All the best,
