The Last Weekend Of Summer

This weekend I really tried to savor every moment I can't believe Fall is knocking at the door. I went to a few yard sales and  I did just a little painting but I had to get caught up on yardwork and housework. I managed to finish one small paint project and I rearranged my living room. I picked up this serving tray at Old Time Pottery and I can't figure out why this guy's face is on it. Is it me or does this serving tray need some help? With the help of Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint Mr. Handsome will be no more. I used Old White and Aubusson Blue to acheive the new look.

I used dark wax and I did just a titch of distressing, the handles are wrapped in jute.

Yes it's a frog

I think the tray looks great! Not bad for $6.99! I just have to find the perfect space for it.
Here's the loot I got this weekend!! Looking forward to restyling it soon.

Until the next restyle have an awesome day!

  8. Your tray turned out great! I have two just like it with old photos of lighthouses on them, so I'll be using your ideas, including the twine around the handles. Thanks for the inspiration!
