The Evolving Family Room

Hello Readers,
Thanks again for visiting me! This past weekend we were out couch/sofa shopping it's never easy. Too many to choose from but I know exactly what I want. Here is my criteria light in color, attached pillows, t-cushions, no skirt and very long. It took some time but I think I have it. Here is the couch we have now
and here is what I want for the room

the couch will actually be a four cushion couch. I want more length the fabric is an ivory gray color with flecks of blue

Of course it is very similar but different right? My upholstery class is fast approaching and I need to select fabric for the leather chair here is what I like so far

It's kinda boring but safe, I did get some inspiration from House Beautiful (I'm afraid of pattern on anything other than pillows)
I love that plum chair

The blue chairs are a great accent

I love this space you can read more about it here. I really like the light color of fabric.

I want to add a pop of color but also some richness to the room, so I will be out looking this weekend. The family room has come a long way but I'm always tweaking :)
Do you remember this?

  3. It's going to be great! I'm so jealous you are taking an upholstery class! What fun!

  4. Vicky,
Everything is looking great! I think the couch is a good choice. You can add more color and pattern with pillows like you said and they will be easy to change out to suit your mood! Can't wait to see the end result!!!

  5. hey Vicky, i love the sofa you picked out for your family room. we have leather furniture in ours, but i wish we had gone with fabric. i've been feeling like abby lately, as i battle the flu. enjoy your weekend.
