Pillow Pizzazz

Hello Readers,
A few days ago I mentioned that I wanted to jazz up my living room couch and chairs with new pillows and so I did!!

I was flipping through Ballard Design magazine and I found a little inspiration for my first pillow.

I noticed the fabric on this footstool and then a smile came across my face :) I THINK I HAVE SOME OF THIS FABRIC IN THE BASEMENT AND GUESS WHAT I DID!!
It isn't exact but close enough, so I fired up the sewing machine and made it lickety split. I only had enough for the front I used beige fabric for the back.

Here is the living room last Summer, this space has come a long way in just a few short months.
I like the solid blue pillows but I've been seeing a lot of patterns on couches lately
so I switched to these two pillows that were in my family room, I like the patterns together
I purchased this fabric at Ole Time Pottery and I finally got around to using some of it. Have you gone to Ole Time Pottery yet for fabric?
blurry I know :( crappy camera

I spruced up this pillow by adding covered buttons you can read about it here.
Sewing pillows is quick, easy and cheap especially if you have everything you need. I used the polyfill from my chair that I upholstered back in January so I didn't have to buy any :)

This is what Sadie thinks of my pillows.......isn't she cute!

Have a good day and be sure to "hit" some Linky Parties if you're a blogger. I have made a list of my favorites called
"My Party Peeps" check them out.

  1. You were right! You definitely have pillows here today! I love the fabric....adorable and your button pillows look incredible mixed it.

  2. Love your pillows...the one you just made is extras special! Great Post Vicky!

Oh, let me tell you this...I have seen your photo on other blogs and tried to get to you, but couldn't! I thought you didn't have a blog...boy was I wrong! I found you through Linky! Glad I did! Hugs

  3. Pillows can change everything! Great job! Wish I could sew...hmmph.

  4. Really like the pillow changes. Glad I read through multiple posts and saw that you covered and added those cute buttons in the middle of the pillows ... such a nice accent. And I love that even though the pillows are new and brighten up the space, Sadie is still allowed to snuggle into them :)

  5. Love the colors and fabrics of your pillows! And if Sadie likes them, you KNOW they're good!

  6. I love it! And the beagle snuggled between them. :) I have one of those snugglers too.

  7. I love all your pillows. I've been thinking of changing out my bedroom pillows for spring and you gave me the inspiration. P.S. After reading one of your post about fabric at Old Time Pottery I found one near me and bought some fabric. Thanks for the tip!
