Kitchen Countertops

Hello Readers,

The kitchen update is slowly coming along , over the weekend I worked on "jazzing up" those very dated counter-tops per Abby's recommendation :)

Are you ready for a sneak peek!?

Here are some of my favorite products including
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Graphite

If you are interested in trying chalk paint please click here, I have ordered  my paint from Classic Wall Finishes and Patty is always very helpful.

you don't have to prime when using chalk paint but I wanted to take this extra step because it's the kitchen

I didn't want a smooth finish so I scuffed the counters up before applying the Wipe-On Poly

Abby is making sure it's done right

it was the "hubs" idea to use his buffer for waxing this save a lot of time and it help to give the counter-tops a bit more character

I really like the look it's sort of worn and aged

I am pleased with the results but I will wait about 7 days before I put anything  on the counters I just want to make sure the paint, polycrylic, wipe-on poly and wax are completely dry and cured.

only time will tell how well this technique will last but I'm willing to be the guinea pig I will keep you posted on the wear and tear

I painted the counter-top in the bathroom about a year ago and it has held up very well without any problems you can read about it here.

I hope to have this kitchen finished soon.......I can't take the organize mess much longer, Abby on the other hand is having a grand old time sniffing and getting into any and everything I don't think she wants the doors put back on, Abby isn't as innocent as she looks.

Thanks for stopping by!
