Furniture Find & Feature

This past Saturday I was clicking through Craigslist and I came across an ad for a dresser, two nightstands and two mirrors for a very low price. So I thought is this too good to be true? I called and arranged for a time to pick it all up. So here it is..........can't wait to transform it all :)

I have also been featured this week at Charm Bracelet Diva! She throws a great linky party stop by for a visit.

Have a great day,

My Latest Find

Once again I found the perfect table at a great price! It's a butler coffee table. It was in pretty decent shape and this was a "mindless restyle" with very little fuss and muss. I used Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in Old White and I distressed and waxed the table entirely. So here she is, the before and the after!

Until the next time..........

All Glammed Up

A few days ago I purchased this little gem off of Craigslist.  This table was in need of some TLC and TLC is what it got. I gave the tabletop a major sanding and then the fun began with Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint. I used a variety of colors Ochre, Paris Grey, Graphite amd Old White. Click here to find my inspiration.

I used silver Rub'n Buf along the edges to add more dimension. The top was stained with Minwax Dark Walnut Stain and I applied three applications of gloss polycrylic to protect the tabletop.

Until next time............Vicky

She's So Pretty

After much "fuss and muss" she is ready for her big reveal! First the BEFORE and then the AFTER. I will then take you step by step.

I used Valspar satin black paint and I then thought oh I can do better than this. I  then brushed on Annie Sloan's Graphite Chalk Paint and that is when the dresser began to come to life. To add interest I decided to add three handles that were different from the originals just to jazz it up. The next day I applied furniture wax  and distressed it quite a bit and then added silver Rub n Buf. Read my previous post here about the product. I'm very pleased with the results :) Until the next time...........

Don't You Just Love Craig?

Today I found a real gem on craigslist it's the cutest round table. I think round tables can do so much for your decor, and let's face it a good round table can cost a small or big fortune. I may have a hard time letting this little baby go after she gets her restyle. It's going to look fabulous when I'm done.

I like the finish on this table perhaps it will inspire me to create something great.

I have also been working on my dresser I put the hardware on it but I still need to do some tweaking..........why can't I just keep everything?

Go With Your Gut

I'm slowly making progress with my $10 dresser, originally I wanted to paint it black and adorn with metallic hardware then I got to thinking "how boring is that." Yesterday I painted Annie Sloan's Graphite Chalk Paint over the satin black and I distressed it a bit, I stood back and admired the dresser and I then applied another coat of chalk paint. I'm not quite done but I know it's going to look great when I'm finished. I'm glad I went with my gut :)

Mother Nature Is In Charge

I've been busy but it's at my leisure, yesterday I was able to paint the table and dresser black and I was quite pleased with the results sort of. Then I thought "you can do better than that." What to do? What to do? Lately patina and weathered furniture has really appealed to me so I decided to give it a go! go! Let's begin with the table, I purchased this beat up table in the spring and if I have learned anything since starting this blog stay within your skill set. I don't know how to repair broken legs, legs that wobble so I'll pass on these things in the future for sure. I love the way the table looks but it's a "wobbler."

The dining table and dresser are coming along but Mother Nature got in the way this weekend. I was only able to prime and paint the dresser and I started removing the varnish from the table and I primed two of the four chairs...........rain :(

Until next time
